Mrs Ashworth has led Brindleford School since 2018, bringing over 25 years of experience in education. A Cambridge history graduate, she is passionate about developing the whole child and fostering a love of learning.

Mr Carrington oversees curriculum design, academic standards, and timetabling across the school. A keen mathematician, he also coordinates the school's Oxbridge preparation programme.

Mrs Clarke leads on pastoral care, behaviour policy, and pupil wellbeing. She has extensive experience in both state and independent sectors and is a trained counsellor.

Mr Fletcher drives the school's teaching and learning strategy, leading on CPD, lesson observations, and pedagogical innovation across all departments.

Mrs Patel oversees the Year 7 to 9 curriculum and transition programme. She has over 20 years of experience and is passionate about ensuring every pupil builds strong foundations.

Mr Hall manages GCSE and A Level options, examination coordination, and university preparation. He works closely with Heads of Department to maximise pupil outcomes.

Mrs Gleeson oversees the school's finances, operations, HR, and estates with over 15 years of experience in educational administration.

Ms Okonkwo leads a department of eight English teachers. She brings Shakespeare to life for pupils of all ages and directs the annual school production.

Head of Mathematics

Dr Llewellyn completed her PhD in applied mathematics at Imperial College London. She leads a team of seven maths teachers and runs the popular maths challenge club.

Head of Science

Mr Whitfield coordinates the science faculty of ten teachers across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. His engaging demonstrations are legendary at Brindleford.

Dr Mensah leads the Biology department and oversees the school's ecology garden project. She previously worked in biomedical research at UCL.

Mr Partridge brings infectious enthusiasm to the Chemistry lab. He leads the school's STEM enrichment programme and coordinates the annual science fair.

Mrs Farouk leads the Physics department and runs the school's popular astronomy club. She has a particular talent for making complex concepts accessible.

Mr Walsh leads a department of five History teachers. He organises the annual Year 9 battlefield tour to northern France and the inter-house debating competition.

Mrs Heywood leads the Geography department and coordinates an extensive programme of fieldwork trips including the annual Year 10 trip to Iceland.

Mr Nkemelu leads a team of six teachers covering French, Spanish, German, and Mandarin. He organises annual language exchange trips to France and Spain.

Mrs Hussain leads DT across resistant materials, textiles, and food technology. She has industry experience as a product designer and brings real-world context to the curriculum.

Mr Ross leads the Computing department and the school's digital strategy. He runs the coding club and has guided pupils to national success in the Bebras Computing Challenge.

Ms Yates supports Mrs Harper in the medical centre, providing first aid cover and assisting with health and wellbeing programmes across the school.

Ms Sharma is responsible for safeguarding and child protection across the school. She works closely with staff, families, and external agencies to ensure the welfare of every pupil.

School Counsellor

Mrs Cross provides confidential counselling support to pupils. She is a qualified therapist registered with the BACP and offers both one-to-one and group sessions.

Health & Safety Officer

Mr Beckett oversees all health and safety compliance across the school site. He conducts regular risk assessments, fire drills, and ensures all facilities meet current regulations.

Attendance & Welfare Officer

Mrs Whitmore monitors pupil attendance, follows up on absences, and works with families to support regular attendance. She is also a qualified first aider.
